Charles's Story

Hey it's raining here in Murphy Nc where we live, so I decided to write my story(the short version). I retired from Sprint after 32 years in 2003. Dixie retired as the Executive Director for Family Life Skills Learning Center, also 2003. Dixie and I met on Classmates, when she was looking for some of her classmates, one of which was my brother, Tom. We actually grew up in the same neighborhood as teenagers, but I didn't know her then. We met in person at her class reunion in 2003 and we were married shortly after. (I'll fill in all the time span between high school and Dixie when I have more time.) We lived in Beverly Hills, Fl on 2 1/2 acres for 5 years before buying property In Murphy Nc. We built a cabin here and moved in Sept 2007. We come back to Florida since we still have the house there and my son Jeff and 2 grandson's Trent & Tyler live about 3 miles from our place. We have 2 classic cars. A 1956 Ford Victoria and a 1968 Mustang. I had a 56 Ford Victoria in High School so when we cruise to car shows we "feel" like we're "lost in the 50's". We still love dancing t...Expand for more
o the 50's music(is there any other?) We host a "Mini Class Reunion" at our place here in NC in Oct when the leaves are turning. It is absolutely beautiful. We are looking forward to the 50th year Largo High School Class Reunion in May of 2010. Life is GOOD and we are blessed with good health and continue to be very active. I just recently gave up running, now we walk the 2 mile loop around the mountain we live on. We enjoy hearing from all classmates and sure hope to see MANY of you at the reunion and/or at our place in Oct. Largo All The Time Chuck Hadley (The Miler) Update April 13,2015 We sold our houses in Florida and Murphy NC and bought a home in Young Harris, Ga.. This home has a beautiful mountain view with a creek. Not nearly as much maintenance on this 2 acres. The biggest selling point of course is the five car Man Cave. We sold the 56 Ford Victoria but still have the 68 Mustang. We still enjoy classic car shows most every week end, won a trophy last week end. Life is good and we are looking forward to seeing ,hopefully, a lot of you at the 55th class reunion.

Because of Gods love I have overcome many things and I pray to be an encourager of others to never give up. God has a plan for us and when we seek Him we find that good plan.
